LTN Celebrates September 2017!

With cooler nights, beautiful fall colored mums, leaves starting to show signs of change and pumpkins now visible on their vines LTN celebrated September with an ‘It’s almost harvest time’ theme.

We had special guests join us this month and are grateful to the Honorable Ruby Brabo for inviting

her long time friend and his family ~ Pastor Erick Brookins from Florida, who provided a sweet

but powerful message, praises and singing of familiar hymns enjoyed by all. What a blessing to

have them particularly after enduring the wrath of Hurricane Irma just the week before, sustaining

damage to properties, homes and loss of electricity but praising the Lord for his grace and mercies.

Our prayers are with you!

Dinner included fresh pulled pork BBQ, baked beans, cole slaw, dessert and beverages. Thank you Salem Baptist Church for providing desserts!

Our food pantry specials this month were meat selections for large/small families, donated by the King George Church of God and Food Lion… is gratifying to see how our community works together to provide!

Special appreciation and recognition was given to LTN team leaders for their ‘behind the scenes’ efforts to make it all happen for our folks each month! Registration ~ Jane and Sonja, Volunteers ~ Carolyne, Kitchen ~ Carol, Dining Room ~ Connie, Food Pantry ~ Chris and Traci, flowers ~ Jeanne Marie and of course Furman, our Sergeant-at-Arms. In addition, kudos to our volunteers ~ the workers who join with us to bring it all together on event day ~ from set-up to clean-up!

On a sad note, we lost one of our founding sponsors and supporters, Pastor Helen Lehr of Descending Dove Christian Center, who is now rejoicing with our Lord! Condolences and prayers go out to the Lehr family!

A pleasant and loving spirit could be felt throughout the Citizen’s Center ~ Team Leaders, special guests, patrons and volunteers alike ..... faith-based, businesses, organizations, youth groups and neighbors all represented and sharing a special time together giving thanks for friendships, blessings and provision from the King George Community! We appreciate each and every one of you.

Visit us on Love Thy Neighbor's facebook page.  Please share with your friends and invite them to join us at our next event ~ November 12th.
