Our New Home in 2022

We’re still waiting on county paperwork to make this 100% certain, but we have a plan for our new home!

Starting January 2nd, 2022, we will be in the Journal complex on Route 3 in King George.

We will have food pantry events at the Route 301 location (the Bingo building) until Christmas.

There will be NO FOOD PANTRY on December 26th.

Please see the link below for all the details on the new location.  Let us know if you have questions.

Location: Love Thy Neighbor is located on Route 301 (next building north of Hillcrest Motel).
Address: 5769 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA.

Raised Bed Gardens – Help Needed

An LTN volunteer, Lydia, is planning and supervising the construction of raised bed gardens behind the Love Thy Neighbor building.  She is doing this for her American Heritage Girls capstone project.

Having gardens will allow us to grow our own produce, to supplement what is donated to us!

We need volunteers to help! Work starts on Memorial Day and will continue through June.

If you’d like to spend 2 to 3 hours getting your hands dirty for a good cause, please sign up here.

Partnership with Fredericksburg Food Bank

We are pleased to announce that Love Thy Neighbor King George is partnering with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.

This makes us a food pantry under the umbrella of Feeding America, the country’s largest organization in the fight against hunger and food insecurity, a nationwide network connecting surplus food supplies to areas of need.

Our identity and our mission remain the same: “Neighbors helping neighbors in King George and surrounding counties.”  This partnership gives us more resources, so we can offer more help to folks that need it.

It will also help us stretch our dollars.  FRFB can provide food at a fraction of retail cost.  That allows us to get more food!

To see some pictures of our first food delivery from FRFB, check out our Facebook page.

Donation Dropoff Locations

To contribute non-perishable food donations, we now have 3 dropoff locations!

That’s right, it’s never been easier to donate food to your neighbors in need, thanks to great businesses in King George that are willing to help.  Here are your options:

#1) The LTN Barrel in the King George YMCA lobby.

#2) Advanced Integrative Medicine (corner of Route 3 and Indiantown Road) is accepting donations for LTN.

#3) RE/MAX (corner of Route 3 and Comorn Road) is also accepting donations for LTN.

Fine print: Donations should be unopened and not expired, please.

The Cottage is Open

Thanks for coming to our Grand Opening

Pardon our construction, we still have a few things that need to be polished, but with the community’s help we opened the doors to The Cottage at LTN Community Center on July 15, 2018.

Thank you Lifepoint’s “Paint The Town Red” Project team for all your hard work.
