Love Thy Neighbor’s food pantry is open EVERY SUNDAY.
Schedule: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Food Pantry Open
Volunteers: Setup starts at noon.
Pandemic Conditions Apply! Love your neighbor, don’t get them sick.
Please be mindful of social distancing.
Face coverings (over nose and mouth) are required. Please wear a double-layer mask, not a gaiter.
Location: Love Thy Neighbor is located on Route 301 (next building north of Hillcrest Motel).Address: 5769 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA.
An LTN volunteer, Lydia, is planning and supervising the construction of raised bed gardens behind the Love Thy Neighbor building. She is doing this for her American Heritage Girls capstone project.
Having gardens will allow us to grow our own produce, to supplement what is donated to us!
We need volunteers to help! Work starts on Memorial Day and will continue through June.
If you’d like to spend 2 to 3 hours getting your hands dirty for a good cause, please sign up here.
Shifflett’s Waste Services is providing trash and recycling pickup for Love Thy Neighbor — as a donation!! They thought it would be a nice way to serve the community.
UPDATE: Love Thy Neighbor volunteers will be accepting donations every Wednesday from 1-4PM.
Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at several businesses in King George county during their business hours.
If you’re donating something that needs to go in the freezer, and Wednesday afternoon does not work for you, please contact us to set up an appointment.
We are pleased to announce that Love Thy Neighbor King George is partnering with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.
This makes us a food pantry under the umbrella of Feeding America, the country’s largest organization in the fight against hunger and food insecurity, a nationwide network connecting surplus food supplies to areas of need.
Our identity and our mission remain the same: “Neighbors helping neighbors in King George and surrounding counties.” This partnership gives us more resources, so we can offer more help to folks that need it.
It will also help us stretch our dollars. FRFB can provide food at a fraction of retail cost. That allows us to get more food!
To see some pictures of our first food delivery from FRFB, check out our Facebook page.
The James Madison Garden Club used the LTN building to make some lovely Christmas wreaths – and they gave us a generous donation!
To contribute non-perishable food donations, we now have 3 dropoff locations!
That’s right, it’s never been easier to donate food to your neighbors in need, thanks to great businesses in King George that are willing to help. Here are your options:
#1) The LTN Barrel in the King George YMCA lobby.
#2) Advanced Integrative Medicine (corner of Route 3 and Indiantown Road) is accepting donations for LTN.
#3) RE/MAX (corner of Route 3 and Comorn Road) is also accepting donations for LTN.
Fine print: Donations should be unopened and not expired, please.
On #GivingTuesday, at 8AM, Facebook and Paypal will start MATCHING donations made on Facebook.
This is a great chance to double your giving impact.
They’ll keep matching until they exhaust their pot of funds, so set your alarms and make a donation at 8:01AM ET this coming Tuesday (Nov 27th) to Love Thy Neighbor’s #GivingTuesday fundraiser on Facebook.
